Celebration of Fathers at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum
and IMAX¨ Theater

A special celebration provides an opportunity for the entire family to learn about the world of aviation and space.

MCMINNVILLE, OR. - The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum will host a series of special activities for families during the annual FatherÕs Day weekend celebration.

FatherÕs Day festivities will begin on Sat., June 14 and will continue through Sun., June 15. Weekend activities include speaker presentations, IMAX movies, special cockpit viewings and museum tours, as well as an opportunity for children and parents to enjoy the new interactive exhibits and displays at the new Space Museum.

The main event is a discussion titled ÒSR-71 Blackbird: Secrets Revealed,Ó featuring a panel of six SR-71 experts who had careers related to the supersonic spy plane. The presentations will be held Sat. and Sun. from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The new Evergreen Space Museum will feature interactive activities that include opportunities to launch a Titan II missile and land a space shuttle. Exhibits on display include an X-15 mock-up, a Lunar Lander, a Lunar Rover and the Titan II SLV Missile centerpiece.

The Evergreen Aviation Museum will feature B-17 tours and presentations, a chance to see the inside of the Spruce Goose cargo deck and enjoy fun for the whole family in the childrenÕs education area.

The Evergreen IMAX Theater will also present three movies throughout the weekend: Space Station 3D, Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag and Sea Monsters 3D: A Prehistoric Adventure. For more information regarding the prices and film times, please refer to: www.evergreenmuseum.org.
